Mum's the Word

I've come to the conclusion that chrysanthemum represents the epitome of hardy autumn flowers. Not only are they abundant but they're multicolored and of varying sizes and shapes (button mums seem particularly worthy of adoration to me).

The color variety we see utilized most often in fall flowerbeds or potted arrangements are of the yellow/red-brown/orange variety, and I can't say that I mind. It's a marvelous sight, those taught little blooms with their color radiating inward, sometimes playing at burnt sepia and others just displaying truly orange.
