Wild Indigo - Baptista australis

Butterflies like this perennial plant, also known as indigo weed. It grows to around 3 feet tall and fairly wide - up to 4 feet - and very shrub-like. Many folks seem to like it as a background border for growth with other plants, and it flowers in the spring. The wild and native characteristics bode this well to "wildflower" type gardens, or could even be pretty planted in a field with full sun. It also has an alkaloid taste so the critters don't really care for it...
